North Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency Head, Christian Tamora Hutagalung said the 24-hour operation aimed to maximize the park as a space for social interaction, creativity, and culture.

"In North Jakarta, only Gorontalo Park is ready to operate 24 hours so far," he expressed, Tuesday (2/11).

Every day, he added, Gorontalo Park is crowded with visitors because of its strategic location near a major road. The park covers an area of 4,050.84 square meters.

"This park we choose must truly have a high presence in the community, meaning it is already active," he explained.

His party was also preparing 16 other parks to operate 24 hours a day, including its supporting facilities and infrastructure.

"Other parks are still being prepared, and we are ensuring the main lights, CCTV cameras, toilets, security posts, including security personnel," he added.

East Jakarta Economics and Development Assistant, Wawan Budi Rohman stated the preparations for this 24-hour park operation also required coordination with the sub-district, neighborhood leaders (RT/RW), and community figures around the park regarding security and environmental comfort aspects.

"There must be community support to prevent the misuse of the park, and visitors should participate in maintaining and keeping the park clean," he uttered.
